🎄Christmas Quiz🎅
Thank-you to everyone that supported our Christmas quiz, at Little Stoke Cricket Club, on Friday 6th December 2024. The quiz consisted of 6 rounds, which were as follows: Picture (20th Century Toys), three General Knowledge rounds, with answers starting with: ‘C’, ‘H’, ‘R’, ‘I’, ‘S’, ‘T’, ‘M’, ‘A’, ‘S’, Music (Christmas Pop Songs) and a Lucky Dip.
Ten teams entered this fun competition, to win the Christmas hamper (including 2 bottles of wine and other goodies), that was shared by the winning team, ‘Ho Ho Harrisons’. It was a close race, with only one point separating 1st and 2nd place (who also won a prize), and only 10 points between first and last place. A prize was also awarded to the person wearing the ‘Best Christmas Attire’... which was won by a rather flashy looking Christmas elf!
Thanks once again to Little Stoke Cricket Club, for letting us use their facilities and to the bar staff who worked tirelessly, providing table service throughout. 🍺🍷
A good time was had by all, and we raised a magnificent £225, boosting ALRA funds, for the benefit of the community. One team emailed us to say: Thank you to all of the ALRA team that organised the quiz. It was really great!
. However, if you weren't able to join us on the night, then you may like to have a go at the picture round: 20th Century Toys.
Halloween Disco
This event, was held on Friday 25th October 2024, was enjoyed by all those that attended, and raised £95 for ALRA funds.
There was a good turnout
for the Halloween Disco on Friday. A big thank you to everyone who attended, and for the youngsters who danced all night to Taylor Swift, Abba, George Ezra and Disney songs... they also knew the moves to 90s classics, such as Macarena and Saturday Night. Thanks also to Ed and Nigel, for providing the services of Phase III Disco, and thanks once again to Little Stoke Cricket Club for letting us use their facilities.
It was a good night!

Easter Quiz
Thank-you to everyone that supported our ‘Easter themed’ quiz, at Little Stoke Cricket Club, on Friday 22nd March 2024. The quiz consisted of 7 rounds, which were as follows: Picture (Obsolete Sweets), Spring, Easter Facts, Easter Flowers, Music (Easter related), Easter Food & Treats and a Lucky Dip.
Ten teams competed for the first prize, (an Easter hamper, including 3 bottles of wine and other goodies), this was won by the ‘Agatha Quiz Team’. Second and third prizes were awarded to ‘Bakewell Friends’ and ‘Al's Pals’, who were each just a few points behind the winning team (with only one point separating them).
Many thanks for your support. This was our most successful quiz to date, which raised a magnificent £235 for ALRA funds.
If you weren't able to join us for the quiz, then you may like to have a go at the picture round: Obsolete Sweets.
Valentine's Disco
Thanks to those of you that were able to come along and support this event...
We opted for 9th February 2023, as it coincided with the half term break, but unfortunately, we were only able to negotiate a 7.30pm start, which probably didn't suit families with young children. Plus, we had a number of last minute cancellations, due to stomach bugs! Because of the low numbers, we decided to not charge for this event.
PS: A handful of regular cricket club members requested a few songs (that were not exactly romantic), but they seemed to enjoy themselves. 🙂
Christmas Quiz
Thank-you to everyone that supported our Christmas quiz, at Little Stoke Cricket Club, on Friday 8th December 2023. The quiz consisted of 7 rounds, which were as follows: Picture (Films), Food, Drink, Around the World, Music (Pop Songs), Traditions and a Lucky Dip.
Six teams entered this fun competition, to win the Christmas hamper (including 3 bottles of wine and other goodies), that was shared by the winning team. The second place prize went to a tie breaker, when both teams finished just 4 points behind the winners.
Thanks once again to Little Stoke Cricket Club, for letting us use their facilities and to the bar staff for selecting the prize winner for the ‘Best Christmas Jumper’. A good time was had by all, and we raised another £138 to boost ALRA funds, for the benefit of the community.
If you weren't able to join us, you may like to have a go at the picture round: Christmas films.
Halloween Disco
This event, held on Friday 27th October 2023, was enjoyed by all those that attended, and raised a fantastic £225 for the Aston Lodge Defibrillator fund.
There was a fantastic turnout
for the Halloween Disco on Friday. A big thank you to everyone who attended, and for all the brilliant Halloween costumes
...both children and parents entered into the ‘spirit’ of it, with a selection of skeletons, witches, wizards, ghosts, ghouls, monsters of various kinds, and even a ghostbuster! Every penny raised from ticket sales has been donated to the Aston Lodge Defibrillator fund. A big thank you also to Ed and Nigel, for donating their disco services, and to Little Stoke Cricket Club for letting us use their club.
It was a great night!
