Postbox Toppers

Our second postbox receives special attention from time to time, in the form of seasonal Random Acts of Crochet Kindness.

Here is collection of pictures, featuring the different postbox toppers that were seen during 2021.

Valentines Day

For Valentines day, our postbox was seen wearing this brightly coloured topper. Great for brightening up your day, especially as we went into lockdown... again!

Easter

The chicken on this Easter themed topper has a striking resemblence to Feathers McGraw (from Wallace & Gromit - The Wrong Trousers - 1993), don't you think?

Spring

Stone is the birthplace of the Trent and Mersey Canal, so this topper featuring a canal barge, is most appropriate, complete with planters on the roof and two resident swans.

Summer

This seaside themed topper, was captured by one of our residents whilst visiting Filey (North Yorkshire).

Food & Drink Festival

Back to our Aston Lodge postbox, this time celebrating the Food & Drink Festival... 'Staffordshire's original gastronomic gathering' and one of the many highlights on Stone's annual events calendar.

Halloween

Again featuring pumpkins, this rather ghoulish looking topper materialised in time for Halloween.

All we can say, on behalf of the residents of Aston Lodge, is sincere thanks to the people involved. They obviously really enjoy their craft and love to spread seasonal cheer with these wonderful creations... Thanks too of course, to the various people who've captured these pictures throughout the year.
