February 2026

Cherry Tree Saplings and More

On 16th February, Blue Frog gave a whole day, to the gardening volunteers.  The first task of the day was to clear buddleja from the path between the park and the post box.  Then they set to work cutting back the pyracantha on Mercer Avenue, adjacent to Pearson Drive, before moving onto the railway path, where Jon Cook's wife supplied us with drinks and delicious homemade cookies.  Then at the end of the railway path, large amounts of trees and shrubs were cut back, to make the path more accessible.  Finally, moving onto the cherry tree patch, to remove a large number of self set saplings, which were subsequently collected by Blue Frog.

In total, the volunteers (with huge help from Blue Frog), put in a fantastic 52 hours, over 5 sessions!

January 2026

Happy New Year

Our gardeners have already been hard at work, despite the inclement weather.  The only thing which stopped play was a couple of days heavy snowfall.  Stats for January are: 8 sessions, totalling 26 hours, and two one tonne bags collected by Blue Frog.
